Ultra-Hard Top Spill Pallet 4-Drum Gull Wing

An outdoor secondary containment storage system keeps the elements out while providing convenient access to drums.

The Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum Gull Wing is a spill containment system designed to safely store up to four 205 Litre drums outdoors. The system features gull-wing style doors that can be easily opened, providing quick access to drums for dispensing and loading/unloading. The system includes a large 250 -litre sump that exceeds the EPA spill containment regulations and can be accessed through two removable grating sections. The unit also features steel brackets on either side that enable the lid to be locked in an open position for easier access.

Features

  • All-polyethylene units feature a weather-resistant design, allowing secure outdoor storage of hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Hinged covers are easily opened by one person perfect for satellite waste collection.
  • All four drums can be easily accessed with the unique “gull wing” cover design.
  • Drums and collection sump remain clean and dry free of rainwater, debris, and other contaminants.
  • Large, 250-litre containment capacity meets EPA Spill Containment Regulations.
  • Drums are positioned on a deck above the sump area, elevated from any spilled or leaked materials.
  • Rugged steel brackets allow covers to be temporarily fixed in their open position – making decanting of wastes safe and efficient.
  • Deck grates are removable for easy cleaning of the sump area.
  • UV inhibitor in polyethylene (LLDPE) resin resists the degrading effects of sunlight, adding years to outdoor service life.
  • Covered by the industry’s most robust warranty. Five years of protection against any material or workmanship defects.

Constructed with the “Cross of Life” Design

Innovative “Cross of Life” design protects the pallet’s structural integrity during heavy loads over time. As more weight is applied to the top of the pallet, the Cross of Life design draws the all-polyethylene sides towards the center instead of allowing them to sag outwards.

COMMON APPLICATIONS

FAQ

1. What are the dimensions of the forklift pockets?

2. Can I move hard tops with drums inside?

No, we do not recommend moving loaded hard tops.

3. What is the Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum made of?

The Ultra-Hard Top P4 is rotationally moulded using low-density polyethylene.

4. Is the Ultra-Hard Top P4 forkliftable?

Yes, the hard top can be lifted with a forklift or a pallet jack from all four sides.

5. Does the Ultra-Hard Top P4 comply with spill containment regulations?

Yes, the UIltra-Hard Top 4-Drum complies with EPA and Spill Containment regulations for storage of 205L drums.

5. Is there any UV protection to extend the Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum service life?

Yes, the Ultra-Hard Top 4-drum uses a “built-in” UV inhibitor to prevent the polyethylene (LLDPE) from breaking down in the sun.

6. Is the Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum waterproof?

The Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum is weather-resistant. Water is not likely to get inside during a regular/normal rainstorm. However, in high winds, some rain may get inside the hard top.

7. Is the Ultra-Hard Top 4-Drum lockable?

Yes, standard padlocks (2) can be used to lock the hard top and prevent any unauthorised access.

8. How long can I expect my UltraTech polyethylene (PE) spill containment product to last outdoors?

Up to 10 years or more depending on several factors. For more information please contact our Sales Team

9. What are the factors that affect the life of a PE spill containment product outdoors?

The most important environmental factors are ultraviolet exposure and chemical exposure. In the absence of chemical compatibility concerns (determined by the UltraTech compatibility chart for PE products), the next most important factor for outdoor, polyethylene spill containment products will be ultraviolet irradiation (UV) exposure. The most important factors with reference to UV are thickness, UV Inhibitor (UVI) content, and pigment color, type, and concentration. Ultraviolet irradiation exposure causes molecular structure and bond changes that result in the embrittlement of PE. Very thin PE can become brittle and fracture in less than a year (think contractor’s PE Visqueen sheeting). Thicker parts take longer to break down. The addition of UV Inhibitors to the PE allows it to sustain more UV exposure without breaking down. Darker pigments, inorganic pigments, and higher concentrations of pigments also individually and collectively will give PE a longer life before appreciable UV damage occurs.
