SpilMax® Absorbent Marine Booms will absorb a wide variety of plant and seed oils, hydrocarbons, petrochemicals and petroleum-based solvents.
These large floating marine booms are hydrophobic and repel water. They are intended for use in waterways to contain and absorb hydrocarbon based spills.
Each boom has printing on it to remind the user what liquids the boom can absorb.
Manufactured with UV resistant tough spun bonded outer mesh encasing a polypropylene particulate. Each absorbent floating boom features snap hooks for easy connection of multiple booms. A nylon rope runs the full length of the floating marine boom which adds strength and ensures ease of retrieval. Available in 125mm and 200mm diameter. An absorbent floating boom has absorbency of up to 35L per saturation depending on the size of the floating marine boom. Even when fully saturated, these durable absorbent booms will float on water.
The SpilMax® range of absorbents have undergone extensive testing to ensure their absorbency and performance using the ASTM Test Method F726-06 “Sorbent Performance of Absorbents” to test maximum oil capacity.

The Absorbent Bilge Booms are hydrophobic and repel water. They are intended for use to absorb oil based liquids and hydrocarbons. They are often used in areas where sheen is likely to be present. While these are traditionally used in boat bilges, they can be used in conjunction with other products and devices, such as those found in drain pits, to remove hydrocarbons from runoff.
