Ultra-Dewatering Bag Oil & Sediment Model

retain Oil, silt and sediment pumped out during dewatering operations

Geobags are also known as dewatering bags, sediment pump bags and sediment filter bags. They are perfect for filtering sediment laden water. Geobags provide a simple yet effective method of removing heavy particles and hydrocarbons from excavation water allowing silt free water to be released from the bag.

Chatoyer manufactures a range of sizes for smaller applications and can custom designs for large sediment control operations. Our designs include options for various types of filter bags and filter tubes. We utilise either a non woven geotextile for gravity, or low pressure fed dewatering or a woven geotextile for high pressure dewatering scenarios.

Dewatering bags can be used within construction or mining activities for incidental dewatering applications (such as after rain events), dewatering dredged material, or dewatering sludge from waste water treatment.

Geobag effectiveness and maximum capacity will depend on a number of factors including type of sediment, temperature and the geotextile. Our engineering team will work with you to design Geobags that meet your site and project

FAQ

Is there a way to maximise flow through the bag?

The total flow rate through the Ultra-Dewatering Bag can be maximised by getting it off the ground.  While water will flow through a dewatering bag laying flat on the ground, it will be impeded by the solid/saturated soil it is on.  By placing the bag on large aggregate or on hay bales, the water will be less restricted as it flows through the bottom layer of geotextile fabric.

What is the flow rate?

60L/m2/min

What should I do with the bag when it's full or I'm done watering?

When the Ultra-Dewatering Bag is full, it should be disposed of as directed by the site engineer and in accordance with any local regulations and requirements.  Often times, it can simply be cut open and the contents dispersed.

How do I secure teh Ultra-Dewatering Bag to the discharge hose?

If your flow rate is not too high, you can use the attached straps to tie off the bag to the hose.  If water is being discharged at a higher flow rate, a hose clamp may be required (not included).  You can also use our optional hose connector (Part# 9739) to make the connection quick and easy.
