Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallets

Save money – store two IBC tanks side-by-side

The Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallet is an excellent cost-saving solution for storing two IBC tanks side-by-side. It has a large sump with a capacity of 2,025 litres , which meets the spill containment regulations for two IBC tanks. Additionally, optional bucket shelves can be added to collect any drips and leaks from dispensing spouts. The all-polyethylene construction of the pallet provides superior chemical compatibility, making it a reliable and durable option for containing spills and leaks.

Features

  • Use for intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), drums, or other large vessels (all materials stored must be chemically compatible).
  • Heavy-duty construction can handle up to 3628 kg per side (UDL).
  • Available with optional bucket shelf for either or both sides – catches small leaks or spills during dispensing.
  • Grates are easily removed for quick clean-up.
  • One continuous sump holds 2025 litres.

FAQ

1. Can the Ultra-Twin IBC sump be taken apart for shipping/storage?

Each side has two removable grates. The sump, however, is one piece and cannot be disassembled.

2. Is the sump continuous or is it two separate compartments?

The 2025 litre sump is continuous. In other words, a spill from one side will eventually make its way over to the other side. There is no barrier to separate the two sides. It is important to note that chemicals stored on the Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallet must be compatible.

3. Why are there so many different options for bucket shelves?

Bucket shelves use bulkhead fittings to return any spilled contents back into the sump. The bulkhead fittings are installed at the factory prior to shipping the unit out so we need to know where bucket shelf will be located. A shelf may be added later (after the unit has been received) but without the bulkhead fitting, any spillage will be “trapped” in the bottom of the shelf.

4. Can I move the Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallet with IBCs on top?

No. IBCs, tanks, totes, drums and other items must be removed from the pallet surface prior to moving it.

5. What is the size of the grating that each IBC sits on?

Each side of the Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallet has a usable surface that is 1320mm x 1320mm This surface comprised of two removable grates that are each 660mm x 1320mm.

6. Can the Ultra-Twin IBC Spill Pallet support an IBC that has pedestal posts for legs, or just flat bottom IBCs?

The pallet has a 3628 kg per side capacity.  This is for uniformly distributed loads.  An IBC that is supported by pedestal post or feet focuses all its weight on those feet.  If the dimensions of those feet are not large enough to properly displace the weight on the spill pallet’s grating, it could be an issue.  As a precaution, steel plates (at least 304mm x 304mm) can be used under the feet to more evenly distribute the weight over a greater area.

7. What type of drain is used for these pallets?

The standard drain is a threaded hole in the sidewall with a 19mm polyethylene plug with NPT threads installed.
