Also known as a spill berm and spill bund, our Collapsible Bunds are designed for use in a variety of spill containment and chemical containment needs common in mining, oil & gas or industrial applications.
Available in standard sizes or custom built to suit your organisation’s requirements, a portable spill bund is ideal as temporary bunding or for a permanent operation.
Our Collapsible Bunds are manufactured using heavy duty 900gsm PVC or 1,020gsm XR-5 geomembrane. Material options are highly resistant to punctures, tears, abrasions, ultraviolet radiation, temperature extremes, hydrocarbons, and a host of chemicals. Both the PVC and XR-5 bund offer longevity and suit a variety of applications.
The Chatoyer Collapsible Bund is manufactured with a strong and durable stand design which can easily be folded and deployed. The stands are made with a durable marine grade batten to provide exceptional flexibility and strength. These battens ensure even if the bund were to fill completely, it would maintain it’s structure and hold the liquid. Stands can be driven over if the wall of the spill bund is collapsed. For added protection simply cover the folded down bund wall with a material such as an extra sheet of PVC.
As a permanent or temporary liquid containment bund, some common uses include tank bund, ISO tank bund, IBC bund, drum storage bund, generator bund and 20′ or 40′ container bund. Virtually any type of container or equipment could be stored in the bund when used as a secondary containment option to be compliant with AS 1940.
To make them even easier to use, the Collapsible Bunds can be supplied with a:
These spill containment bunds and accessories are reusable so long as they are in good repair, properly cleaned and properly stored.
These portable spill containment berms can be manufactured to any size to a maximum of 20m x 15m. Here are some tips to choosing the size:

Manufactured to your required specifications in Chatoyer's Australian factory
AS1940 requires secondary containment sized to the greater of 110% of the largest liquid volume to be stored OR 25% of the total liquid volume to be stored. Enter the liquid volume (in litres) and quantity for each container type you have (e.g. drums, IBCs, totes, tanks).
Tip: If your storage is outdoors, you may need to allow for rainfall and freeboard depending on site conditions and regulations.
